ABOUT THE SONG:
This song was the third single released and the second video. When this tune was originally written, the lyrics were meant to reflect the status of the United States of America, and, in truth, how divided the country is as opposed to united regarding many important things. Over time, the song grew more personal as I was able to add a few lines relative to to situations I had gone through. Overall, though, the song is a giant metaphor for isolation and barriers instead of communication and reaching out to one another.

Building Walls…
A sort of shelter from
the noise and toys
and endless information.
Building Walls…
A goodbye to outside thoughts
and degradation
and all the animosity.
Building Walls…
Some better barricade than
Reaching out… no bridges and no waterways
Building walls…
To keep us separate
And shield me from
that future fall out.
I Remember…
I remember when we tried to talk.
Such mute communication.
I remember…
I remember how we acted out
Like scared little children.
And in the end…
When we decided we could
not be friends… it seemed so natural.
And you’ll pretend…
You will pretend that you are always right
And I’m off the deep end.
We’re just building up our walls.
ason…
There’s a reason
There’s a reason why we’re at this point.
Oh, But I can’t remember.
All the screaming…
All the tears and all the choosing sides…
and how we lost our reason
So big and tall,
I stand my ground, but I am wearing down
I hate this situation.
And through it all,
We never waiver, though we’re sure to fall…
Ah, we’re just building up our walls.
Ah, We’re just building up our walls
Ah, We’re just building up our walls
